Teambuilding
Being in a team, a section, and a publication, in whole, is such an amazing experience. Through the semester, I've made so many new friends and bonded so well. Teambuilding is a very important part in creating a publication. You need to work together and get along in order to get though deadlines. As a staffer, I have come a long way because of the help I have received and because of how friendly everyone is.
I work with my graphic designer to inform the students what the bell schedule will be like for Spirit Week. As I work with her, we are able to communicate and talk about our ideas for the post. I decided to do this because I usually work with my photographer, but this was a little different. It not only allows me to work with someone new, but also allows the students of Dreyfoos to see the schedule for the week so they do not show up to the wrong classes. I think this was a great example of working together as a team and helping others.
This is an example of using the app, SnoFlow. Using this app shows what work is in progress, which work I have finished, and which ones I haven't started. This is a great example of team building because it shows that I have been communicating with these people to get my work done. It builds further friendships and better organization skills.
Due to the price of menstrual products, individuals with a uterus may experience period poverty, leaving them unable to afford feminine hygiene products. These menstrual products help maintain hygiene and prevent infection while a menstruator is on their period.
Many students have created clubs centered around feminine hygiene and period poverty, including Fostering Femininity.
“The goal of our club is to spread awareness about period poverty and to help raise money for women in need of basic things, such as tampons and pads,” Fostering Femininity president and vocal junior Taylor Klein said.
Period poverty is an issue affecting roughly 500 million people around the world. Raising awareness could bring change to this issue. To learn more, read Issue 1 of The Muse.
Period Poverty is a huge issue, and I was able to work with designers and writers to write my caption and create the best possible social media post. This shows team building because without them, I wouldn't be able to get the information needed for the infographics and even the caption. I was able to sit with my designer and work on the infographics together. Not only were we doing that, but we were able to share laughs along the way.
